In a series of well-attended annual meetings and conferences held this month, State Senator Victor Crist (R-Tampa) was recognized for his record of outstanding service and accomplishments for ensuring justice in the state of Florida. These groups included the Florida Bar Association, the Florida Statewide Prosecuting Attorneys Association, and as well as the Clerks of Court from Hillsborough, Miami-Dade, Orange, Palm Beach, Polk, and Leon Counties.
“Throughout Senator Crist’s legislative career, he has worked diligently to reform, strengthen and advance justice for Florida’s criminal and civil justice systems,” stated Mark Ober, president of the Florida Prosecuting Attorneys Association.
As Chairman of the Senate’s Committee on Criminal and Civil Justice Appropriations, Senator Crist works to improve criminal justice laws, programs and efficiency to help reduce crime, and improve access to the courts.
John White, President of the Florida Bar Association said “Despite tough economic times, Senator Crist worked hard to ensure access to Florida’s justice system by securing needed funding for Florida’s statewide courts.”
“In this ailing economy, we have had to work harder and smarter to ensure the safety of all Floridians and maintain access to justice”, said Senator Crist. “By working together to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of programs and services within Florida’s justice system, we are keeping the doors to our courthouses open, law enforcement in our communities and the gates to our prisons shut.”
Throughout his legislative career, Senator Crist has received numerous awards from law enforcement, victim advocacy groups and others for his outstanding legislative leadership and accomplishments. These may be viewed at www.flsenate.gov.
